That AP photo of seeing that Japanese woman with her little one crouching down next to her after the quake is heartbreaking. I realize it could have easily been me and my son.

Prayers to all those families who have lost loved ones and for those still searching and hoping.

I started a home disaster pack, but never finished it. I let life busyness get in the way.
I recommend every household have one ready.

You also should have a backpack at the ready to grab for every member of the household including the dog in case officials come knocking at the door saying you have to leave NOW!
You won't have time to pack.
We think it will never happen to us, but in today's world you just never know.
Guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
