Tuesdays: Are You Wasting Them?



Tuesdays can be tough. They can be hard to make special. Mondays have their own reputation; Wednesdays are celebrated as the half way mark; Thursdays are just celebrated as Friday eve; Fridays, well they have their own celebratory status, but Tuesdays seem to get lost in the shuffle.

How do you make your Tuesdays special? Do you say you’re too busy? Maybe you have a meeting and two practices scheduled for today after an already busy day of work. There is no time to stop and enjoy Tuesday.

If you have something to do after your normal working time on every day of the week, then you have scheduled too many things in your life. Some people wait till the weekend to relax, but we also need some down time during the week. We need a day of not having to be somewhere during the week as well, especially if your weekends are jam packed with activities, too.

Why not make Tuesday a special no activity day? Of course you can assign any day of the week to be like that. Some people prefer Friday’s for that, which is great, but I think we also need a mini-break earlier in the week. Why not have 2 days of week of unscheduled activities?

I can hear you gasp and laugh at the idea!

If you think there is no way that you could do that with your family’s lifestyle, then it may be time to re-think your lifestyle. We are way too busy nowadays and it is showing in our health – both our physical and mental health.

Our bodies and our minds need downtime, not just at the end, but during the work week as well. We were never meant to go full speed for an extended period of time. Burnout is real and needs to be addressed before it happens. We need to recharge our batteries before we burn them out.

So stop, re-evaluate your lifestyle, trim the excess and take the time needed to enjoy your life. Even though you may be thinking it’s impossible, it truly can be done with a little letting go and re-prioritizing. Make your family’s health and your health, both physical and mental be the priority. You won’t regret it.
