Mom Tip – “Don’t Give Up On Breastfeeding”

I have never met a mom who said she ever regretted breastfeeding. I have however, met a few moms who regretted giving up on it.

If you are a new mother and are currently experiencing problems breastfeeding of any kind such as, your baby is having trouble latching on, pain when baby is nursing, etc. get help. You can get the help you need either from a lactation consultant at the hospital you delivered at or by contacting the La Leche League. This group is dedicated to helping moms and babies with breastfeeding and there are usually local members that will be more than happy to help. You can also connect with other moms like in an IVillage breast feeding message board or through our local message board on breastfeeding Moms Like Me. Also, don’t forget to talk to friends and family and ask if they know of a woman who currently is breastfeeding or they used to when their children were babies. Sometimes just talking with another woman can be very helpful. I think you will find most women will be very helpful and understanding.

I know it can be hard, just don’t give up. You won’t regret it.
